Yam dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 800 grams Yam cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp Rice powder for the yam mixture
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour for the batter
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  • Take 3 cups of water in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, salt to taste and lemon juice
  • Add the yam, mix well and close the lid of the pressure cooker
  • Cook until 1 whistle
  • Open the cooker after pressure releases and strain the cooked yam
  • Add salt to taste, Chilly powder, Coriander powder, Cumin powder, mix well; add rice powder and mash well
  • In a bowl, take Gram flour, Rice flour, salt and water to make a batter
  • Heat oil in a vessel
  • Make small balls with the yam mixture
  • Dip it in the batter
  • Fry the yam balls in oil
