Stir fry spinach – simple, easy to cook vegetarian recipe

Equipment

  • Clay pot

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches Spinach chopped
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 3 nos Dry red chillies
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut

Instructions

  • Clean the spinach and chop it
  • Heat the cooking oil in a clay pan
  • Add mustard seeds, wait till they splutter, add urad dal, cumin seeds, dry red chillies and mix
  • Add chopped onions and garlic
  • Add the chopped spinach and turmeric powder and mix well
  • Sprinkle a few drops of water to help the leaves to cook
  • Add salt to taste, mix well and stir fry
  • Add grated coconut and mix well
  • The stir fry spinach is ready

Step by step method

Clean the spinach and chop it

Heat the cooking oil in a clay pan

Add mustard seeds, wait till they splutter, add urad dal, cumin seeds, dry red chillies and mix

Add chopped onions and garlic

Add the chopped spinach and turmeric powder and mix well

Sprinkle a few drops of water to help the leaves to cook

Add salt to taste, mix well and stir fry

Add grated coconut and mix well

The stir fry spinach is ready
