Kadai Mutton

This mutton recipe is an all-time favorite side dish for roti as well as rice.

Equipment

  • Thick bottomed Kadai

Ingredients

  • Cooking oil
  • 6 nos Cardamom (whole)
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp Cloves
  • 3 nos Cinnamon (medium size)
  • 1 string Curry leaves
  • 2 nos Onions (Chopped)
  • 3 tbsp Ginge garlic paste
  • 500 grams Mutton Tender
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 2 nos Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Meat masala powder
  • 2 strings Coriander leaves (small cut)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel
  • Add cardamom, fennel seeds, cloves and cinnamon
  • Add curry leaves and onions
  • Add ginger garlic paste
  • Mix and saute well for 5 minutes
  • Add tender mutton
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder
  • Mix well and cook for 10 minutes
  • The mutton releases water
  • Add tomatoes and mix well and cook for 10 minutes
  • Add salt to taste, mix well and cook for 45 minutes with closed lid and on low flame – keep stirring occasionally
  • Add meat masala and mix well
  • Add coriander leaves and saute upto desired consistency
  • Serve the Kadai mutton hot !
