Easy Pressure Cooker Sambar
Quick and easy pressure cooker sambar
Equipment
- Pressure cooker
Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor dal
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- Few Curry leaves
- 1 no Onion Chopped
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (hing)
- Water
- 1/4 cup Tamarind water
- 1 no Tomato Chopped
- 1 no Carrot Chopped
- Few Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Wash and soak the toor dal for about 10 minutes
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pressure cooker base
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves
- Add the chopped onion and saute
- Add turmeric powder
- Add chilli and coriander powder
- Add asafoetida (hing)
- Add two cups of water
- Add the soaked toor dal
- Pressure cook until 4 whistles
- Open after pressure releases and mash well
- Add tamarind water
- Add chopped tomato
- Add chopped carrot or any other vegetable
- Pressure cook for 1 whistle
- Open after pressure releases
- Garnish with coriander leaves, serve with love and share the goodness
