Drumstick Crab Masala

This is a tasty seafood recipe that can be used as a side dish for rice, dosa or idly.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Whole black pepper
  • 2 nos Onions Chopped
  • 3 nos Green chillies Sliced
  • 3 nos Tomatoes Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Salt (add as per taste)
  • 2 nos Drumsticks cut to about 6cm pieces
  • 1 kg Crab cleaned

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan and add fennel seeds, cumin seeds and whole black pepper.
  • Add the chopped onions and saute for few minutes.
  • Add the sliced green chilies and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, mix and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder & salt and mix well to make the masala.
  • Add the cut drumsticks and turn the masala.
  • Add the cleaned crab and mix well.
  • Add water and cook with a closed lid for 10 minutes.
  • Open the lid and cook for another 5 minutes while turning regularly till required consistency.
  • Drumstick Crab Masala is ready – serve fresh and relish the great taste !
