Bread Upma

Easy failsafe bread recipe for everyone

Ingredients

  • 10 slices Bread cut into small pieces
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chana Dal
  • 1 tbsp Urad Dal
  • Few Curry leaves chopped
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies sliced
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Few Coriander leaves small cut

Instructions

  • Heat a thick bottomed vessel and add Cooking oil & Ghee
  • Add Mustard seeds, wait for splutter and add Chana dal, Urad dal and chopped Curry leaves
  • Add chopped onions and saute well
  • Add chopped tomatoes & sliced green chillies and cook (while stirring intermittently) until the tomatoes turn soft
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder & salt to taste and mix well
  • Cook the masala for 5 minutes
  • Add the cut pieces of bread to the masala and mix well
  • Add a tablespoon of lemon juice (for the tart flavour) and mix well
  • Add the cut coriander leaves and remove the vessel from the stove

Step by step method

Bread Upma is ready – Serve with love and share the goodness !
